『A certain town 』

  This work is my graduation work.

In my college days, I had a few opportunities to go to foreign

countries. In there, I saw the scenery,  the townscape, and 

the traditional buildings which are completely different from 

what I daily look at in Japan. These gave me a large amount

of inspiration. I thought the sights in foreign countries created

an air of fantasy.

  In this regard, I expressed my experience in foreign

countries, and the impression of these countries.

In the concrete, I focused on the townscape, and 

traditional buildings that I felt a special attraction.

First, I dyed yarns on the basis of impression I got

from these buildings, then I made fabric using 

a weave. In the end, I expressed “A certain town”

which does not actually exist using the fabric and

the yarns.
