Print/Plus Technical Block

                              Design for screen

I created 6 designs which was based on popup drawing for screen printing. I choose first one to make silkscreen. I took thought of scale, texture, and quality of mark. It was a little bit difficult to express different texture using only black and white.

Super Human - Welcome Collection

In fact, the Super Human exhibition was extremely shocking for me, because I had never seen such exhibitions related to people with disabilities or human enhancements until I saw the Super Human exhibition.

Probably, this kind of exhibition can not be held in my country, Japan, in terms of morals and ethics. My first impression of this exhibition was astounding, however it was better opportunity to know about people with disabilities, human enhancements and the latest technology.

There were a host of intriguing works and objects. I select a image product, 'Eyemaker', Dorothy Cross, 2000. This image product explains process of making glass eye for persons lost their eye. I found a short video which is similar to the image product I saw in the exhibition.

The Glass Eye Maker from Tomas Leach on Vimeo.
The story of the last glass eye maker in Britain.
Filmed on 16mm whilst I was working at Fabrica in Italy.
Directed by Tomas Leach.
Cinematography by Ben Todd.

I was impressed by this video. I did not know that whole process of making glass eye is done by human hand. It could need superior technique and plenty of experience.
I think glass eye is really beautiful and delicate like art creation.

POPUP project

my popup collection

My objects are vintage buttons from Paris, vintage beads, accessories, chocolate boxes, yarn, and lids of glass bins. I love vintage, since I can feel some narrative from vintage objects.
And I was conscious of objects colors and shapes. Vintage beads and button have many kinds of colors and shapes. Some of these shape are bumpy, smooth, rough....etc.

Rough Guide Project

My group is E ( Bond Street, Dover Street, and Piccadilly)

I am really interested in British traditional buildings, because these are totally different from  Japanese building style which are new, modern, and not traditional.Especially in Bond Street New Bond Street, there are many beautiful and gorgeous traditional buildings.

And I focus on windows. Buildings have a lot of windows which have a large number of shapes and, colors. Sometimes these are systematic, but sometimes random.
I think windows are what connect inside with outside, and windows bring a extending space. In other words, windows separate the space as inside window and outside window.
